East Midlands: September Circle Forum

Wednesday 22nd of September 2021 at 12:00 pm

Location: Join us either in-person at Husbands Bosworth Airfield or virtually via our online event platform

For our September East Midlands Circle Forum, we will be partnering with our Leicestershire Charity of the Year, Alex’s Wish in aid of their #BeMoreAlex campaign!

We will be heading to Husbands Bosworth Airfield for a special ‘Loop-the-loop’ event with Rob Barsby from AeroSPARX.

Members of The Circle Club will be given the opportunity to go up in a plane with Rob himself to perform a series of loop-the-loop’s for charity. Members will have to raise a minimum of £250 for Alex’s Wish to go up.

We will be hosting our Circle Forum for the East Midlands Business Community (members and non-members alike) during the interval of this CRAZY event. The forum will include guest appearances, networking and a light lunch. REGISTER BELOW!

About Rob Barsby and AeroSPARX:
Rob is the team flight leader at AeroSPARX, an aerobatic stunt display team that have brightened up airshows across the world with their smooth, graceful manoeuvres and quality formation flying. Perhaps best known for their stunning pyrotechnics. AeroSPARX have been dazzling audiences with their remarkable demonstrations as far afield as Saudi Arabia and New Zealand. They are the only team in the world to combine Formation flying, Aerobatics and nighttime pyro!
Rob began flying in 1983 at the age of 17 (before he’d even learnt to drive!) and soon advanced up the ranks, becoming an instructor in the late ’90s and progressing from Instructor to CFI at one of the biggest gliding clubs in the UK – The Gliding Centre at Husbands Bosworth – in 2013. Rob also now works on a number of major projects with national organisations related to inspiring youngsters and others into taking up careers and hobbies in aviation, whilst also developing projects to capture a more mainstream audience.
In Rob’s spare time he also flies a number of aircraft from different gliders, tug aircraft, classic chipmunks, motor gliders and his own Robin DR400 around UK and Europe.
As an AeroSPARX display pilot Rob fly’s aerobatics’ at night, in formation with pyrotechnics and leads the combination, whilst both pilots work together to create unique experiences for Aerosparx audiences. Rob’s day job involves working with all Aerosparx supporters and partners to include technology to produce unique 360 interactive LIVE experiences showcased through mobile-based apps.

About the Be More Alex Campaign:
Alex’s Wish is a charity set up to eradicate Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, an aggressive form of Muscular Dystrophy that affects 1 in every 3,500 boys born. Every single muscle is destroyed due to a lack of protein.  It also affects the heart and lungs as these are muscles too.
Alex’s Wish was set up by Emma and Andy Hallam (parents to Alex) in late 2012 to help raise vital funds to help bring about effective treatments and ultimately a cure for this devastating condition. The Charity is named after their son Alex was diagnosed with Duchenne in April 2010, 2 weeks before his 4th birthday – the diagnosis came completely out of the blue.
Despite all the challenges he faces, Alex is possibly one of the most positive young boys you could hope to meet. This positive mindset was the reason for forming the #BeMoreAlex campaign. Will you #BeMoreAlex and join us for this adrenalin-filled event? Register below!
